Dr. Brown was born June 29, 1962 in Waxahachie, TX. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 10. A 1980 graduate of Ennis High School, he graduated from Navarro College in Corsicana TX. in 1982 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Computer Science and Business. He and Ruth Chanel Morris were married on January 8, 1983, and they have three children, Veronica Natasha, Angela Wynette and Joshua Lee. Dr. Brown accepted his call into the ministry by the Lord October 5, 1986, and was licensed to preach October 19, 1986. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry June 19, 1988.
He served as interim Pastor of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Ennis, TX. from June to September of 1988. He attended Southern Bible Institute in Dallas TX. From 1988 to 1990 and 1992 to 1994. Dr. Brown served as the Assistant Recording Secretary of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America from September 1995 until September 2002. He was elected as Moderator of the Dalworth Missionary Baptist District Association in 1993 at 30 years of age. Dr. Brown continues to serve as Moderator. He is the youngest Moderator on record in the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America.
Dr. Brown served as Pastor of the Corinth M.B.C. in Ennis, TX. from September 1988 until August 1996. In June of 1996 he was named "Minister of the Year” in Ennis TX. Dr. Brown became the Pastor of Ervay Cedar Missionary Baptist Church in September 1996, where he continues to serve. A graduate of Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary, he received a Bachelor of Theology Degree in April 1997 and a Masters of Theology Degree in April 1999. He received his seven-year diploma in Church Growth from the National Baptist Sunday School and BTU Congress in June 1994. In 1999 Dr. Brown was selected to be in "Who's Who Among American Business Men." He graduated with “Cum Laude” honors from Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary in January 2003 with a Doctorate of Theology.
He is currently an instructor in the National Baptist Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Congress, where Dr. T.B. Boyd III is President and CEO. Also, Dr. Brown serves as the Recording Secretary of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America where Dr. Melvin V. Wade, Sr. is the President. Dr. Brown is a member of the NAACP Dallas Chapter, the Dallas Baptist Minister's Union, the Dalworth Missionary Baptist District Association, Missionary Baptist General Convention of the State of Texas, (Dr. G.V. Clark, President).
Dr. T.L. Brown is the recipient of many other awards and accolades, but most of all he is a Christian, a family man and a devoted Pastor.
